Hong Kong has supplanted New York atop Cushman & Wakefield's list of the ten most expensive shopping streets in the world. London's Bond Street fell out of the top ten due to Britain's weak economy.
Ashley Lutz looks at the world's most expensive main streets, as determined by the average annual rent retailers paid per square foot to secure a spot amongst the globe's luxury brands. Tokyo is home to two such streets and New York City had four addresses make the list. But Hong Kong was the big winner, with three areas finding a place in the top ten, including Causeway Bay where average annual rents of $2,630/square foot pushed New York City's Fifth Avenue ($2,500/square foot) to second place.
