The Economist Intelligence Unit has released its list of the world's most expensive cities. Not one city from North America cracks the top twenty.
Tokyo can once again claim the dubious distinction of being the world's most expensive city, finds the "Worldwide cost of living index" from the Economist Intelligence Unit. Zurich, who had topped last year's list, has dropped to number seven, while Sydney and Melbourne both now find themselves among the top five. Of the top twenty cities, eleven are located in Asia and eight are located in Europe.
Caracas, Venezuela, interestingly enough, is identified as the most costly city in the Americas.
