Roger K. Lewis discusses the role of natural light in the design of buildings.
"Some buildings and interior spaces demand carefully controlled daylight either to create a certain ambience and feeling or to protect furnishings and artifacts. Light must be especially well managed in museums, art galleries and libraries, where ultraviolet light can damage drawings, paintings and books. In such places, indirect, properly filtered light can softly wash ceilings and walls while subtly revealing whether it's sunny or cloudy outside."
