This report, published by the California Wilderness Coalition, reports on the detrimental effects of urban sprawl, logging and energy exploration on California's unprotectedwilderness. The study shows that the 10 most endangered wild places include one national park, one California state park and six wildlife refuges, andincludes 800,000 acres of land and 45 threatened or endangered species. Thesites are located around the state with two in the Mohave Desert, four in the coastal habitats of Southern California and four within roadless areas within National Forests. The Bush Administration has yet to uphold the Roadless Conservation Act of the U.S. Forest Service which would protect these lands and may attempt to overturn it.
