The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) announced the winners of its 2013 Professional Awards and Student Awards today. 33 projects were selected for recognition out of more than 534 entries.
Ahead of next month's Annual Meeting, the ASLA has released its annual list of projects recognized as the "top public places, residential designs, campuses, parks and urban planning projects from across the U.S. and around the world."
This year's winners include Lakewood Garden Mausoleum & Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis by Halvorson Design Partnership, which won the award of excellence in the General Design category. In the Analysis and Planning category, the Lafitte Greenway + Revitalization Corridor by Design Workshop, which envisions the transformation of an old 3.1-mile industrial rail corridor in New Orleans, was recognized with the award of excellence.
The awards will be presented at the ASLA Annual Meeting and EXPO in Boston on Monday, November 18.
