Prada's new 'epicenter' is a converted New York City building designed by designer Miuccia Prada and architect Rem Koolhaas.
"The pairing of these two "What box?" thinkers was a natural. Ms. Prada pushes boundaries with her fashion. Mr. Koolhaas blurs lines with his architecture. (And Dallas is on his project list: Mr. Koolhaas, together with British architect Sir Norman Foster, are slated to design the $250 million Dallas Center for the Performing Arts, the largest cultural venture in Dallas history.) The store that Ms. Prada and Mr. Koolhaas conceived together is, in the Prada company's words, a "laboratory where ... [Prada] can experiment with new forms of customer interaction... Get ready, says Prada, for two more "epicenters," in Los Angeles and San Francisco."
