Today, opposition to development seems to be more sophisticated, vociferous-and effective. At the ULI midwinter trustees meeting this past January in New York City, concern about intensifying opposition to development was identified as the trustees number one priority. While this antidevelopment sentiment is hardly a new trend, it has not abated over time. If anything, it has grown stronger.
