"Mullins first started thinking seriously about traffic when his own commute suddenly got worse more than a decade ago... I started thinking, 'Wouldn't it be nice if I could just swap jobs with someone?'... His preliminary work revealed only 17 percent of the employees at 14 bank branches worked at the branch closest to their homes. The rest, on average, lived closer to 10 branches than the one where they worked."
