A pair of large winter storms hit California this week, providing a sorely needed, if incremental, reprieve from an ongoing and historic drought. A new twitter account, @LosAngelesRain has personified that rarest of commodities, rain in Los Angeles.
Take Two, a show on Southern California Public Radio KPCC, recently interviewed the anonymous Angeleno behind a twitter account @LosAngelesRain, which has provided a humorous take on California’s ongoing drought situation—as well as rain’s cultural stigma in normal, non-historic-drought circumstances in Los Angeles.

What can we do to see you around here more often?
"Just be nicer to each other, just drive safe when I'm raining and when I'm not. And if you have to Instagram me please use a flattering filter like Sierra. Hefe is definitely not appropriate."
And @LosANgelesRain’s civic mindedness even includes transportation planning wonkiness: Among the goals of @LosAngelesRain for a better city: a train to LAX.
