Jeff Caldwell, of Litchfield Landscape Elements, goes out on a limb and names the five best examples of American architecture. Is he right?

What do New York’s Guggenheim Museum and Chrysler Building, along with Chicago’s Willis Tower and John Hancock Center and New Haven Connecticut’s David S. Ingall’s Rink have in common?
They are five of the greatest examples of American architecture, according to Jeff Caldwell, of Georgia-based Litchfield Landscape Elements.
“Like all aesthetically appealing designs, successful American architecture works with the environment around it in a harmonious fashion. This makes it easy to distinguish the truly great architecture from the well-intentioned executions that didn’t quite succeed.”
From bucking trends to signaling changes in architectural styles to standing out artistically, these five jewels stand out among other notable buildings, Caldwell said.
