"What's most disturbing to planners, though, is not the amount of anticipated growth, but where it could end up.Maps projecting current patterns show that 25,000 acres of pastoral vistas will vanish each year, most of it in the outer suburbs of the District and Baltimore, leaving pockets of nature sandwiched between vast sprawl."
