"[Development] won't happen tomorrow, or even next year. Most real estate experts say Gila Bend still sits too far from the urbanized Valley, more than 65 miles west from the center, to attract big-time builders, even the ones with new projects on the equally out-of-sight far side of the White Tank Mountains... But by dismantling what otherwise was too unwieldy a piece of land, the owners have removed the biggest obstacle for developers, who can now further subdivide parcels and wait for the right opportunity. And in a state where undeveloped land with plentiful water is better than gold, the sale of Paloma Ranch is a notable event in the story of Arizona's growth."
