The likes of Barbara Streisand, Judy Garland, Fred Astaire, and, yes, John Travolta, have all lent their voices to the chorus in praise of transportation in musicals that transport the narrative by "car, boat, train, plane or surrey with a fringe on top."

Here's a sample of what to expect from the list. (We selected the YouTube version with the climactic tug boat ride included, along with Spanish subtitles!)

In addition to the other ten tunes that make Mondello's list, commenters are supplementing the selections with their favorite show tunes.
