Enough Land For 20 Years Growth In Seattle

A government report concludes that King County has sufficient land to support growth for 20 years. Developers disagree.

"While the state Growth Management Act has put thousands of acres off-limits, there's still more than enough land available for development in King County to handle growth for the next 20 years, a long-awaited draft county report concludes. Property that is vacant and eligible for redevelopment in the county's "urban growth areas," where the 1990 law requires that most development be concentrated, can accommodate 263,000 new housing units enough for 500,000 people, the report says."
