New York landscape and urban-design team wins design competion for Santa Fe's new Railyard Park and Plaza project with a design suitable for a semi-arid climate.
"Santa Fe's new Railyard Park and Plaza won't have plastic grass, freeze-dried trees or painted foliage. But the winning design, announced Monday by the Trust for Public Land, pays heed to the city's water crisis. It includes an extensive water-harvesting system that will be used to irrigate an orchard of apricot trees, xeric demonstration gardens and drought-tolerant trees, plants and shrubs. "
