After reintroducing the innovation districts concept, Katz lists the cities that have begun exploring or adopting policies for the implementation of innovation districts. Such efforts include Samsung leasing a six-story building in Manhattan, a Volkswagen plant outside Chattanooga, a newly created innovation district taskforce in Detroit, the formal recognition of Chicago's first innovation district, and the approval of the "Warm Springs Innovation District" in Fremont, California.
