Jason Fargo follows the announcement that the FBI will soon set up shop outside of the infamous and despised J Edgar Hoover Building in Washington D.C. by listing six buildings that residents of cities "love to hate."

The methodology for creating the list is not exactly scientific, but here's how Fargo describes the premise for this list: "even unsuccessful buildings are part of our cities’ history, and part of the pleasure of being a city-dweller is finding buildings that you can love to hate, like these six."
The list includes buildings from architectural heavy-hitters like Rem Koolhaas, Edward Durrell Stone, and the much-derided-of-late Santiago Calatrava. And yes, Boston's Government Service Center is on the list.
