A New Guide to Green Infrastructure

With a growing body of research to support the construction of infrastructure that supports, protects, and even mimics natural systems, the American Society of Landscape Architects has released a guide to green infrastructure.

"The American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) has launched a new guide to explain the many benefits of 'green infrastructure,'" according to ASLA's The Dirt website.

The Dirt's announcement of the guide defines green infrastructure as "designed systems that harness nature to create proven benefits for communities and the environment." Such systems can include "park systems, urban forests, wildlife habitat and corridors, and green roofs and green walls."

"The guide, part of ASLA’s series of sustainable design resource guides and toolkits, includes hundreds of research studies by leading scientists, news articles, and case studies on innovative uses of green infrastructure."
