Arizona State University Resists Light Rail

Claiming that light rail will interfere with research equipment, Arizona State University wants the city to realign the new route.

"Arizona State University has thrown a major wrench in the wheels of Tempe's $302 million light rail plans... The city's leading alternative would send the rail line from Fifth Street and University Boulevard down Terrace Road, a mostly residential street filled with apartment buildings, aging strip malls and an older mobile home complex, which residents say is slated for the wrecking ball within two years."
