"Firms need to better understand—and quantify—the powerful but hard-to-measure influence of place on their operations," writes Mark Murro.
"What serendipitous bits of knowledge have or could be gleaned from the local cluster? What is the health of the local technology scene? How many business partnerships, including suppliers, joint ventures, or industry associations, reside within an hour’s drive? Those are elements of the 'return on ecosystem' and executives should care about those things."
