The Pew Partnership for Civic Change showcases 19 "Solutions for America" devised by communities in 16 states. The programs range from an infant mortality project in Aiken, South Carolina, to a citizen think tank in Jacksonville, Florida, and a women in construction job training program in Richmond, Kentucky. The Pew Partnership says the programs contradict the popular belief that nothing works or everything works. The website's programs offer many approaches being implemented by communities, families, schools, and practitioners. What these sites have in common and what makes them successful are demonstrated measurable results in addressing problems, the ability to provide more comprehensive approaches to specific issues, and an impact that reaches beyond the program participants to the community at large.
