Can You Run Parks Like A Business?

"If King County wants to keep its treasured parklands open in a money-parched future, it must operate like a business, raising user fees for ballfields, adding restaurants to some parks and shedding the burden of others to local cities, a task force said yesterday. But parks are not a lucrative business, so the county should ask property owners next year to increase the property tax to keep the system financially stable in the long run, the report said."
