Reuters reports on the ongoing saga of a $3.75 billion contract to build high speed rail in Mexico. Recently Mexico rescinded a contract awarded to China Railway Construction Corp after opposition lawmakers claimed the bidding process was fixed. According to the article, the Chinese company will tender again when the project is up for bid.
According to a report by the BBC at the time that Mexico cancelled the original contract, bids by Germany's Siemens, Canada's Bombardier and France's Alstom were also considered. The proposed route would connect Mexico City with Guadalajara, Jalisco.
