New Jersey To Save Remaining Airports

New Jersey is committing money to save general aviation airports around the state. The small airports are threatened by development and other pressures.

"The dwindling number of general aviation airports is a public safety concern, Matthews said. Small airports are often relied upon during times of crisis to provide fast access to emergency equipment and supplies. In addition, Matthews said, a new generation of small passenger airplanes is expected in the next few years that could finally make general aviation a more affordable transportation option."
