With his new $8 billion modernization plan for LAX, Mayor James Hahn of Los Angeles seeks to accommodate the arrival of the new A380 jumbo jets and increase airport security. In meeting these objectives, he also plans to limit capacity. Are the region's needs being addressed by the Mayor's plan? Professor Steven Erie of UC San Diego and author of the upcoming book, Globalizing L.A., airs his opinion in this interview with Metro Investment Report.
