Norfolk Southern announced its 2015 capital investment plans on February 25. A map shared on the Norfolk Southern website lays out the planned investments in four categories [pdf]: 1) Growing Intermodal and Crescent Corridor (connecting New Orleans and Memphis to New York City), 2) Investing for Customer Growth, 3) Improving Midwest and Chicago Gateways, and 4) Bridges.

The map shows bridge improvements from Buffalo to Birmingham—totaling 96 projects in this category alone to improve bridges, trestles, culverts, and spans.
