The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) recently released the budget that will back up the components of its first ever bike plan: the SEPTA Cycle-Transit Plan, released in April 2015.
Randy LoBasso reports:
"When SEPTA released their cycle-transit plan earlier this year [pdf], we applauded the Authority for 'successfully outlining a strategy that will move the agency in a positive direction.' And now that SEPTA’s $1.3 billion budget has officially been approved, we’re happy to report that $3 million has been set aside to implement at least part of that plan over the next three years—specifically, the installation of new bike shelters at select SEPTA Regional Rail stations."
LoBasso provides more detail about SEPTA's budget, including some of the places bicycle advocates had hoped for additional bike stations. The response to SEPTA's budget references an earlier post analyzing the SEPTA Cycle-Transit Plan, which is the agency's first ever bike plan.
