$60.2 Million Complete Streets Makeover Planned for MLK Drive in Atlanta

Invest Atlanta has announced a plan to finance a complete streets project for a 7.2-mile stretch of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.

Atlanta is moving forward with complete streets plans for a 7.2-mile stretch of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, from the future site of the Falcons stadium to Fulton Industrial Boulevard, reports David Pendered.

The city has budgeted $60.2 million for the complete streets makeover. According to Pendered, "[t]he price includes a linear park to be built on the north side of MLK, between Peyton Place and Lynhurst Drive." Pendered notes that those funds include an anticipated TIGER grant.

The project will begin construction in September 2017 and complete two years later. The article includes more details about funding and the goals of the project. The project is now undereay with design and engineering, so stay tuned for more details.
