A study of two modern traffic roundabouts in the Green Bay metropolitan area is now available online from the Brown County Planning Commission.
The Lineville Road Roundabout Study of November 2001 details the effects of Wisconsin's first modern roundabouts, built in 1999 to address traffic problems near a campus containing an elementary school, middle-school, and high school. The roundabouts were believed to be the best method of slowing drivers in the school zone and making the highway safe and accessible for pedestrians and bicyclists of all ages. The report contains photos of the roundabouts and school zone, and charts and graphs detailing roundabout performance. The appendix includes a letter from a developer discussing the effect of the roundabouts on platted lots.
