A recent post on Quora asked the big question: "How do you create a large scale real estate development yet dodge the master planned community and tract home effect?"
In response, the EfficientGov website gathered the answers of Don Johnson, an urban planner and economist, and Chad Cooper, a former town architect.
Johnson's answer focuses on neighborhoods, recommending that the overall development be split up into neighborhoods, each with different designers, varying densities, and a different mix of uses. Copper's answer recommends a form-based code.
