"Philadelphia’s Court of Common Pleas heard arguments on Friday regarding the development of a controversial AAA auto-repair facility on the Delaware River waterfront," reports Jared Brey.

The development is especially significant to the planning discussion in Philadelphia because AAA applied for a permit one day before a zoning overlay for the Central Delaware went into effect. The zoning overlay, codified two years ago, "aims to encourage pedestrian- and bike-friendly uses on the waterfront and discourage car-oriented ones," according to Brey. The proposed facility would not be permitted under the current zoning code.
