"The prominent developer and architect of a luxury high-rise apartment building in downtown Evanston have agreed to pay more than $1 million to settle a federal lawsuit alleging the 5-year-old building was inaccessible to the handicapped... Though none of the defendants admitted wrongdoing as part of the settlement, John Buck Co. had alleged in the litigation that it is generally the architect's responsibility to design a building in compliance with codes and regulations."
