Los Angeles County has dreamed the impossible dream—and will now provide transit access to all of its transit agencies with the use of one fare card.
According to an article by Adrian Glick Kudler, "you can now use a Metro TAP card to pay fares on all 26 transportation agencies in Los Angeles County." For those keeping track, "that's one plastic, microchipped card to get you on the bus from Long Beach to Santa Clarita, Montebello to Santa Monica…"
According to the press release announcing the new unified fare card, Los Angeles know has "the largest seamless transportation system in the nation." The combination of all 26 county agencies totals 3,800 buses. More about the new TAP card can be found at the system's new website.
