APA Awards Funding to Local Projects Combating Chronic Disease

An APA press release reports a funding initiative to back up the collaborative efforts between the planning and public professions: "The American Planning Association (APA) has provided $2.25 million in funding to 17 new local coalitions around the United States through its Plan4Health initiative to combat two determinants of chronic disease — lack of physical activity and lack of access to nutritious foods."

Funding was awarded after a competitive review process for the second year. The press release includes a list of the programs receiving funding, as well as links to last year's awards.
