You've sat through more than one public hearing—a zoning hearing, for example—and listened to the same tried and true talking points paraded about with such conviction as to almost make the audience believe that it's the first time anyone anywhere had conjured up the idea.

Dan Keshet at the Austin on Your Feet blog feels your pain, presenting a list of the nine things people always say at zoning hearings, illustrated by cat GIFs. It turns out a cat GIF helps bring some humor to NIMBY talking points, such as some of our personal favorites: "I'm not opposed to all development. Just this development," "Reality is, everybody drives a car," and "Greedy developers only think about profits."
