New Rail Service Proposed In New Jersey

A new sales pitch proposes to use existing freight lines to move commuters between Bergen and Passaic counties.

"The railcar is being used to publicize a proposal to create a Bergen County rail network, complete with five transfer hubs that would allow riders to hopscotch from one rail line to another and then west into Passaic County.The hope is to use the railcar on existing freight lines, particularly the east-west line known as the "cross-county." The line is now used exclusively for freight."
