After turning down an under-used, deteriorating park for a $5 million makeover, the Salt Lake Olympics Committee (SLOC) has set its sights on making unwelcome changes to Gallivan Center.
Gallivan Center has drawn crowds for the past decade with its public art, skating rink, performance stage, and variety of places to sit and eat, think, and people watch. Now it's slated to morph into into an "Olympic Legacy Park": an improvement project akin to marring a beautiful face with layers of pancake makeup.
