In advance of the UK Urban Summit BBC News looks at key areas that have been identified where good design can contribute to the improvement of society as a whole.
The UK Government's Commission on Architecture and the Built Environment has identified six key areas where good design can improve society: healthcare, crime, education, housing, business, & civic pride. The UK's Deputy Prime Minster will put his name to a new manifesto on design standards "The Value of Good Design" which signals the values by which new buildings will be judged in future at the UK's Urban Summit (see link from BBC site).
