The Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District, planning $1.57billion in new sewer construction through the year 2020, is expected to beunder scrutiny by environmentalists for considering plans to extend serviceto regions outside the urban service boundary. An environmental impactstudy of the district's master plan, created in 2000, is scheduled forreview by the district board in January. Under consideration are theNorthwest Interceptor and the Deer Creek Interceptor projects, which wouldprovide sewer service to new developments outside the Sacramento city orcounty limits. Opposition to the projects may delay agreements.
