Debate rages over whether Cornell's College of Architecture, Art and Planning should be saved. Are the three disciplines too far removed from one another?

"In my four years, I have come to know very few students in art or city and regional planning. Architects are very bonded to each other, and I'm sure artists and planners are the same way. But I feel equally, if not more, affectionate toward landscape architects and engineers. Wouldn't city and regional planning benefit from closer contact with sociology and politics? Wouldn't art benefit from history and language courses? In academia, we all have the common goal of broadening horizons. To categorize AAP as an entity with its back to other disciplines is stifling."
