Historic Atlantic City Airport Up for Sale—90 Percent Off 2008 Prices

Wayne Perry of the Associated Press reports on the latest developments at Bader Field in Atlantic City. Perry notes the historic significance of Bader Field, as the first aviation facility in the world to adopt the moniker of "airport" and a critical component of Atlantic City's development as a casino destination.

Bader Field, however, has been closed for a decade, and has been attached to previous planning related efforts to revitalize Atlantic City. In this case, Perry reports that the city will once again put the 143-acre site up for sale. The last time the city put the site up for sale, in 2008, they turned down a $800 million offer in the hopes of finding a better deal. In 206, the city is seeking a minimum bid of $150 million.
