A new car-sharing service called ReachNow will soon hit the streets of Seattle, offering customers a chance to rent a variety of cars manufactured by BMW by the hour.
"The carmaker BMW has made Seattle the launching pad for a new car-sharing service called ReachNow," reports Amy Radil.
The post shares a transcript of Radil's on-air report introducing the ReachNow concept. According to Radil, ReachNow is modeled on the Car2Go model, which allows "customers to reserve cars on short notice and pay by the hour." Car2Go to already has 750 cars in Seattle, and ReachNow will launch with half that number and cost slightly more, targeting a "premium service."
Radil concludes the report—which includes more details about the premium features available to ReachNow customers—with a note that a "portion of the $1.8 million that Seattle will collect this year from these car-sharing services will go to ORCA cards and other alternatives to car ownership."
