"Located two blocks from the ocean in San Francisco, are two small boarded-up houses that are among the oddest little bits of San Francisco history. They are earthquake shacks, built as temporary homeless shelters after the 1906 earthquake. Now they are endangered because the land they sit on is too valuable for the 96-year-old relics to stay there. The owners want to sell the land and the shacks would have to go. The dilemma is where they would go."
