The San Francisco Board of Supervisorsapparently believes the Segway HT is the latter, as San Francisco hasbecomethe first city in the nation to ban the device from sidewalks. In a"Trends"column for California Planning & Development Report, Stephen Svetediscussesthe Segway HT, the manufacturer's lobbying blitz and the bind in whichlocalgovernments are about to find themselves: "If Kamen’s invention does not end up really changing the way we move through cities, it will certainly raise the level of discussion about how we ought to move through them."
