Survey: Nearly 8 out of 10 U.S. drivers engage in aggressive behavior

Majority of drivers in the United States admit to anger, aggression, or road rage at least once in the past year.

The AP reports on a new study released by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety on U.S. driver behavior, which estimates that some eight million drivers engaged in "road rage." The demographic most likely to engage in this type of behavior are young males aged 19 to 39. Males are three times more likely than female drivers to physically confront another driver. Statistics compiled by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration document that almost two-thirds of crash fatalities are related to aggressive driving. In 2015, NHTSA reported 35,200 traffic deaths.
