During the past 15 years, an unprecedented wave of immigration swept over the South, transforming the meaning of race in the very place it was defined...immigrants from Mexico, India, South Korea, Vietnam and other countries shocked a fundamentally white and black society...Now their children are coming of age, with different expectations of what a life can be."
