Although the regional transit agency that serves the Denver area is amidst an ambitious and broad building program, the city could still use a comprehensive and coordinated vision of its transportation network.

"Denver’s first transit plan got off the ground Tuesday with the first meeting of the 'Denveright' transit task force, a group of about 30 residents, advocates, public officials, and policy experts who will play a key role in shaping the future of transit in the Mile High City," according to an article by David Sachs.
Thus begins what's expected to be an 18-month transit planning process, expected to set an agenda for growing ridership, providing access to transit, and integrating other modes, such as walking, with transit. The city has hired Nelson/Nygaard as its consultant during the process.
