"Efforts to abolish Cincinnati's independent planning department will give developers undue influence overthe City's future growth at the expense of citizens groups. This was the conclusion of the American Planning Association (APA) after its reviewof recommendations made yesterday by the Mayor's Economic Development Task Force and its Regulatory Committee, followed by today's announcement by Mayor Luken of a budget proposal to eliminate the City's planning department altogether."
