A river flows through Atlanta, but few of the city's residents have any access to it. A new vision plan produced by the advocacy group Chattahoochee Now aims to change that.

Molly Samuel reports: "Chattahoochee Now released a report on Thursday that lays out a vision for the river: A series of parks and access points mixed in and around private, commercial and industrial property, covering 5,000 acres, from Standing Peachtree Park in Atlanta to Chattahoochee Bend State Park in Coweta County."
The plan, called Vision 53, also "puts forward some shorter term goals, like opening up more access points to the river, and creating more opportunities for activities along the river."
The article includes anecdotes about the current lack of access along the river, and the aspirations of Chattahoochee Now in proposing Vision 53.
