Many countries have rolled out climate policies since the adoption of the Paris Agreement in December 2015. A new report gathers data on the capital investments that will drive the construction of all that new infrastructure.

A recently released report from the International Finance Corporation (IFC) "shows that the historic global agreement on climate change adopted in Paris helped open up nearly $23 trillion in opportunities for climate-smart investments in emerging markets between now and 2030."
The study references the national climate-change commitments and policies of 21 emerging-market economies. In total, those 21 economies represent 48 percent of worldwide carbon emissions. The report targets the sectors with the greatest investment opportunities in each global region. So, for instance, green building offers investment potential of $16 trillion in countries like China, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Vietnam.
